The big move!

8 posts shy of 200, I am moving this blog. I've had two blogs for awhile now. Some friends of mine gave me some webspace a long time ago, and I had a neglected, often un-updated blog over there. This blog has been my pet into which I put all my posting energy. I originally figured it would just be a record of my adventures in Oz and NZ, but then I kept going after the trip was over. The things I did post on my other blog tended to be copies of what I posted here. Well, I've decided that I like the software on that blog (Wordpress!) better than Blogger's software. And also: what's the point of having two blogs that basically say the same thing? I'm not deleting this one, but I will be changing themes on it. Maybe. I'm thinking about trying the science blog thing. I will keep you updated when I start something up here. I'm still trying to figure out how to export my old entries.

Also hosted on that site are some blogs that belong to friends of mine--basically my husband and his old roommates and their associated significant others. You can read their blogs, too. We recently had a "40 Days of Posting" contest to see if we could post something everyday for 40 days (I didn't make it, heh). The name "Rayd" is an acronym someone came up with that included the last letter of the first names of the four guys who originally started the site. We're all huge dorks over there. Anyway, my blog over there gets a lot more activity/comments (even my mother-in-law reads it!).

So here's a link to my other blog
And here's a link to the main page of all the blogs on that site

Thanks for reading. Now update your bookmarks.

The world sucks, but here are some webcomics to make it all better

I have been at a loss for something to write about the last few days. I'm sure the rest of the blogosphere is chattering away about this week's events, but I doubt I have anything original or thought-provoking to add. I will say I've been unnaturally bummed about this shooting business, considering I have no ties to Virginia Tech. I suspect it's because VT reminds me so much of being an undergrad at Georgia Tech. I knew kids like the shooter guy--the quiet, really, really weird guys. How do you know who's a walking timebomb? And how do you help them?

Aaaaannnd now for something lighter, like these comics I found. From the strip Natalie Dee.

(Oh, how I miss mashed potatoes. Stupid Healthy Eating Plan.)

natalie dee
(So true.)

natalie dee
(Talking peas! Har!)

(Actually, she's not the only one...*ahem*)

I adore random comics. That's all I got for now because I should actually be doing work instead of perusing webcomic archives. 7 days left and all. You can go read more of them at nataliedee.com.
